Colour Schemes Podcast - TGG 4M1

Here is a link to an episode of the show "Under the Influence" by Terry O'Reilly on CBC radio. Terry O'Reilly has been dissecting advertising and marketing for the past six years first through the show "The Age of Persuasion" and now through his new series, "Under the Influence".

This episode is all about colour schemes and the psychology behind them. Take a look at the blog post and read through so you can see the images as you listen to the podcast of the show.

1. Click HERE for the link and then click on the Listen tab on that page, just to the right of the Beatles album cover.
2. As he discusses colours, make some notes of some of the key points - particularly the influence of various colours on a target audience.
3. Post your notes on your blog.
4. Use your knowledge of colour to make an informed and deliberate decision about the colours you choose for your brand identity.

Graphics Class TGG 4M1

Today you should be finishing (if not already finished) your long overdue assignment on brand identity. You should by now have an idea of your company name and service and have written a description, along with answering all of the questions from the blog post on brand identity. Be prepared to present this to me and the class tomorrow so that you can begin your production work. If you have finished this phase, you may begin thumbnail sketches for your logo. You should have at least 20!

Today you can work on the Inside Ride multimedia project. Hopefully you have found a solution to the problem of software programs to use. A USB works well to transfer any data onto the Mac computers to use iMovie. If you've never used it before you can ask someone in the class who has, to get you started. If you are choosing another software program, good for you for finding something! Let's see what we end up with.

Your next task - story for the LOL.
Coming up next is a story about Lakeshore - or the area for the LOL. Find something that is "newsworthy" that lends itself to visual media as well as written. You can choose to present this story traditionally - with photos and text, or you may choose any combination of audio, video, photos and text.
Please begin researching/thinking about possible news stories and make your choice by Wednesday of this week.
Some thoughts...
A profile on a person of interest
A profile on a place of interest (in the area)
The new turf
Preparations for Mainstage
Spring sensations (which is happening next Thursday night)
A day in the life of an aspect of Lakeshore that you think should be highlighted (a program, a teacher, a class - ie. the kitchen - behind the scenes)
See what else you can come up with
