Please make sure you spend time today either shooting or editing your photos for the photo contest. We need to narrow down your choices by Wednesday. If you can narrow it down to 5 of your best photos, I can help all of you on Wednesday and then we can print them on time to submit them to the contest.
You can work on the Inside Ride multimedia once you have narrowed it down to your best 5 and also done some minor image editing - please do your editing on another layer, so you keep the original in a Photoshop file!

A note to yearbook - re Drama awards
Check out this write-up about Jolly Burger Shack at Sears. on the TDSB website Mursal (aren't you writing about this?) Please make sure you do your own interview and don't just grab quotes from this article!
Also. All photos shot yesterday need to be uploaded, edited and uploaded to the site.
Today - Science photo at 12:20 (I hope!). I suggested the science room across from the Phoenix room (where the cooking classes take place, and the staff each their lunch on the 1st floor). Art dept cancelled for today - needs to be rescheduled.
There are two new skills photos from mr. Spizarsky in the yearbook photo pickup folder.
Finish writing articles for the news spread.
Mark is writing about the Patels and their Dare to DAnce win
Mursal - Sears - Jolly Burger Shack
Xerez - skills Canada
Devon - Art show (Elijah sells a painting!)
Elijah is working on the spread and writing for the LCI sports news page. If any of you have not done any writing yet, feel free to ask Elijah for some guidance - you can share in the writing. There can be short blurbs written about different sports and their successful seasons!
WEDNESDAY
Many departments want their photos done during PLC time tomorrow morning. We could use 2 or 3 photographers to commit to that so you can roam around and find them!
Tech - rm. 118 (thought I'd be more inclined to shoot in a more interesting room like the woodshop, auto shop, cosmetology or electricity.
GLE - Find Mr. Greenberg (he was a bit vague)
Library - Ms. Kim can be paged - maybe speak to ms. Manella today about Library AND humanities
Immediately after school - in Mr. James' room (annex?) the CANADA AND THE WORLD (Mr. Koczij) department will be photographed. AND SOCIAL SCIENCE/HUMANITIES (Ms. Manella)
THURSDAY morning at 9:50 (it's a late start) the business/coop department wants their photo done - probably in the business office - but you can shoot in one of the classrooms

A message to the Graphics Class
Now that you have finished your posters for Pride and Prejudice, you need to begin designing the t-shirts!
Keep in mind that the t-shirts will need to be a 2 colour graphic that also expresses the mood, feeling, era and theme of the play. This will be done in Illustrator. Please make sure that as you create this graphic, you keep things separated on different layers, particularly by colour.
To begin with, please create 10-20 thumbnail sketches!!! How can you turn the beautiful and romantic posters you created into something that is a vector illustration in only 2 colours.
Some things to consider:
Colour: The t-shirts will be black so the two colours you choose need to work well for the play, but also need to look good against the black of the t-shirt.
Try it out on a black background and see if the colours you are thinking about will work. Use the colour book.
The graphic: The image should be easily readable. Think about your vector objects that you created in grade 11. Easily identifiable but still dynamic and beautiful.
I'll be back before the end of class. I expect to see at least 10 thumbnail sketches and some thoughts on colour by the end of the period.
Have fun.
Ms. Silverman
Note for Kassey: Mr. Danakas has requested that you take the poster you made, and remove the dates, so he can use that as the cover for the program.
